Guys do love their toys and if buying way too much scaffolding makes him happy (not to mention SAFER....) let him have fun!!!!!

Would make me nervous too. But it doesn't bother alot of people and as long as he uses every precaution available.

I wouldn't worrk too much, it looks like he has a railing and a sturdy walking area. He looks like he know's what he's doing...at least from the pictures.

Short of wearing a harness with a rope attacheck to an anchor off the roof to arrest a fall, (which there doesn't seem to be much of a chance here) not much you can do otherwise.
