    My New Shirt!

Since it's not a quilt, I thought I'd share it in ChitChat... This is the first piece of clothing I've sewn for myself in probably 15 years! Can't wait to wear it tomorrow. This is Simplicity pattern #1538. All I had to do by way of customization was move the darts down 1" and make the sleeve cuffs narrower by 1.25" each. Perfect fit!

Nice job! I may have to give that a try. I make many of my own clothes but haven't made a shirt in a long time. My favorites are 3/4 sleeve but your long sleeved one looks great!

Thank you all so much! I know, I'd rather quilt than make clothes! That's why it's been 15 years... This one was pretty painless and didn't take as long as I expected. Might make some more for this winter if I can find some fabrics I like.

Love your shirt. Looks great on you. I haven't made shirts or slacks or anything like that since my kids were little. ( About 40 years ago) I just don't have the desire to make clothes anymore I guess.

put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.
