Congrats to you and your son on his decision. My son joined the ANG also and it has been a great decision for him. Over the years, he was 18 when he joined and is 46 now, the Guard was always in the background until they selected him to train as a helicopter pilot. He loved it and became a night vision specialist and contour flight specialist. Now he is a pilot instructor full time Guard and is teaching others to fly. One of the best decisions he made in his life.
Oh yes, and he married a Guardswoman and she is awesome!

My son enlisted in the Navy last year and though I have mixed feelings and concerns, I am so very proud!!!
