I have been a mystery shopper and it was fun. I did hardware stores and general merchandise storesfor home products. I was told what to buy and what sort of general atmosphere they were looking for.

It was an eye-opener to look with a "critical" eye and rate my treatment by various sales people.

I don't remember if I was paid very much besides the merchandise and gas money -- but it was fun. -- Mim

I have been mystery shopped many times at work. It helps keep retail workers on their toes in giving the correct information to the customers. It is our job to inform the customers correctly of the product we sell. Several co-workers did not feel that way but I take my job seriously and try to do my best at all times, not just when I think I'm being mystery shopped.
