    well you all have created a huge problem for me--deciding whats for supper just got WAAAAY harder but I already have dessert ready -freshly picked Blackberry Cobbler still warm from the oven with Blue Bunny vanilla ice cream

    I vote for peaches, nectarines, unfortunately I have to get them at the store. I love it when they are so juicy you have to eat them over the sink.

    Oh yeah ... forgot about those. I don't eat tomatoes from the store so summer and my own tomatoes are a real bonus for me.

    BTW - For you tomato lovers ... try growing "Black Krim" tomato. OH SO DELICIOUS!! One of the best tomatoe's I've ever eaten, slightly salty flavor!!

    Tesspug hit it right on the target. Mmm, peaches. But, since I can't find that, I settle for Jamaica. It is hibiscus flowers that are dried and you can make a strong, sweet, tart tea. Icy cold after coming inside from the heat, can't be beat! That and vanilla ice cream with fresh peaches. Yum!

    Things that mean summer to me: wilted lettuce salad (with bacon and onions), and cucumbers and onions in vinegar and oil. Also, corn and tomatoes are so close to our hearts (transplants from the Midwest), but to get quality up here in Alaska is sometimes rare. We cherish good produce!
