Gabrielle's Mimi

Our little GD has started crawling and climbing so the crib bumper pads are gone. Now the problem is that her chubby little legs get outside the crib slats and get stuck, causing her to wake up and cry.

Has anyone made mesh strips or something to stop the legs from getting stuck? Buy Buy Baby sells a mesh thing but it has a zippered top (perhaps to contain very adventurous babies!) for $60 but it's not what I need. I'm sure someone out there has a good idea that will be safe for our little sweetie.
