Default Need info about a case for new Kindle Fire

Wasn't sure if I should somehow put this in the thread about Questions re Kindle but decided to start a new thread. My new Fire came Sunday and I started looking for a case for it. There's one esp on Amazon that I like but one of the reviewers' comments sounded like when you have it vertical, the cover won't bend back so you can hold it with one hand, eg for reading etc. The pics show it with the case set up as an easel for it when watching videos, horizontal, etc. but no pic of it standing upright vertical. Does anyone know if both positions are possible? I'll include a link to the one I've been looking at but don't know if that will get this moved to another section!!:

Are you sure you need a cover? I am not planning to get one for my new Kindle Fire.

I don't use a cover. I got a bag with a zipper top. It has a piece of form to keep the screem safe if it falls. Big difference in weight, I found this bag in a discount store. Paid 5.00 for it. I find while reading a book having the kindle light makes a big difference. Weight makes a big difference if you are reading for a long period of time. I like holding the kindle in my hands. My kindle died a couple of days ago. I had a new kindle as a backup. thank god I had it. It weights a couple of ozs less. What a difference in weight . Enjoy your new kindle. My first one was a gift that I really didn't want. Now I love it. When I visit my friend in Myrtle beach I do all my banking and get my e mails on it. I don't have to bother her to get on her computer. No more corner of my bedroom stack up with books.

Without one it feels too slippery, am afraid it would end up on the floor! Plus fingerprints, etc. (am getting a screen protector too. my k keyboard had one on it and I really like it). I put the fire temporarily into the keyboard case, which is leather and IS a bit heavy but it feels more secure. any other feedback on covers? thx!

My cover does't hold it up vertical. I use one of those wooden folding plate display holders for vertical.

You can buy a cover at Walmart that has the same positions. Try it out and see if it is what you like. I have several Kindles with different covers. The one I like the best is this one:

It feels and looks like a book.

this is the one I bought 3 years ago. I love it. It protects my Fire, folds back for one-handed reading and shuts down the Fire when closed.

This is the one I bought last summer and I absolutely love it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o05_s00

Has a strap that you can put your hand it when you're holding it. Great.

I have a couple of Kindle's but the one I find I use the most has a quilted cover with an elastic strap on the back to hold it with. I made the cover myself and I get a lot of comments about it when I use it. It's quilted with batting so protects it if dropped, is open on the bottom so the Kindle can be charged. The Kindle is held in with elastic across the corners but doesn't interfere with reading. Is washable when it gets dirty. Need to make a 2nd one. lol
