Need pointers to recovering "fabric" shopping bags
I know this has been on here, but I have not been able to guess the right key words. I want to take some of those "mesh" shopping bags and cover them with fabric, to make a strong reusable marketing bag. Can someone point me?

I don't think this is the thread you are speaking about, but maybe there is something here that may help you? Strengthening a Bag

There is a laminate product that you could iron onto the fabric. Then use the current bags as liners as mentioned above.
Here is just one product and description.

I am actually covering one of those plastic mesh store bags with pretty cotton fabric, and could not remember just how it was done. It does involve tacking the new cover at any sewn/bound edges of the original (which becomes the liner). Not too clear, huh. I think making a wrap-around new outside, with raw edge turned under st starting side seam, and then strengthening the bottom, is what I need to do. I gave the ones I had made away and just could not remember.
