Default Need recomendation for a good whiskey???

Long story short, I broke my leg in early April, and my neighbor was very good to me...he checked in on me at least twice a day and made sure that I had anything and everything that I could possibly want or need.I know that he likes a drink of whiskey every now and then, so I thought I might buy him a bottle of good whiskey to thank him. I know nothing about whiskey! I have probed enough to know that he likes the aged Kentucky or Tennessee whiskies...any of you ladies(or your hubbies) have any thoughts? My local liquor store (small town) doesn't carry anything that I would consider good..
I have already bought him a set of glencairne whiskey glasses because I know he laughs at drinking good whiskey from a juice glass! I thought I'd get a good whiskey to go in them..he really earned them.
we are both in our late 60's, and every year I start him tomato and pepper plants for his garden when I start mine. When the ambulance came, I kept telling him to water the plants..don't let them dry out! The emt's thought I was delirious. The night I came home, he had everything I could ever need at arms reach for me, water, a flashlight, tissues, my meds, the remotes with extra batteries, my phone and a walkie talkie, he even got me a quilt magazine! This guy has gone above and beyond being a good neighbor.
Any ideas would be a big help.

Maker's Mark is about the best and it costs around 25.00 a bottle.

You have a wonderful neighbor/friend. I don't drink anything alcoholic, can't even spell it.

I have known relatives drink Jack Daniels and Royal Crown.

we are whisky drinkers--Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, Evan Williams, Woodland Reserve all good KY bourbons. You might surprise him with an Irish whiskey--Tullamore Dew, Jameson Black Label, Green Spot all excellent too

All of the whiskey's mentioned above are good ones. Get whichever one you can find and he'll appreciate it plus the fact you want to show your gratitude to him for taking care of you.
