carhop-it's not that we don't use or like Singers, the big difference is the old and the new. The old were good, solid workhorse machines, although not fancy. The new, with maybe a few exceptions are pieces of junk.

I got a signer 501A at a local missiion house for $12.00. there are lots of really good deals out there if you are willling to look and maybe wait a bit, for a good deal to come along! The older machines are so much better, all metal, older ones will out last me! the newer ones not so good, IMHO
