I bought 2 sets of sheets at Wal Mart several years ago. They are wonderful and will last me the rest of my life. I don't remember the name but, sure Hotel was in the label on the package. They are much better than any past sheets I bought.

Remember nothing stays the same. Prices are higher for everything.

Many of the new all cotton sheets are knit, like T-shirts. They aren't cool to the touch, and as already mentioned, you can't easily turn over in them because your PJ's stick to them. Watch our for knitted sheets. Not cool.

The ONLY sheets that I buy now are from QVC. NORTHERN NIGHTS brand and I choose a high thread count.(800-900).
They wear like iron and feel so wonderful on your body. I even bought both college kids one set of these sheets.
Our son said that his $125 sheets (Cal King) wore out very quickly and he loves the Northern Nights sheets that I bought for him.

I have had good luck with Target sheets, 100% cotton, 400 thread count. I love the labels for top/bottom and side. I seemed to have such a time moving the bottom sheet around and around to get it right! I've been using these for two years or so and show no wear at all. The last set I got was on sale $40 for a king set. They are a deep pink color, don't really match anything and I don't care! Nice sheets, we can't see them while we're sleeping. One of our DGSs happened to walk into our bedroom and spotted those pink sheets and decided to tease his grandpa about them! Too funny.

L.L.Bean not only has great sheets. They also have a life-time guarantee: you can send ANYTHING back ANYTIME in the future for a full refund.

Regarding their guarantee: Not anymore! LL Bean will only refund items bought within 1 year and only with a sales receipt. This is a new policy and will not doubt lose them many customers. LL must be "turning in his grave" with what his GGS is doing to the company. I've also heard that there will not be any bonuses paid to employees this year due to low sales volume. Oh well...I guess all good things come to an end?

Regarding sheets: the microfiber sheets are smooth and soft, but they "pill" terribly and are hot due to the polyester in them. I, too, constantly look for decent sheets and have trouble finding them. For flannel sheets, I've found that either Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's have good sturdy, soft flannels. Lately, I've been using sheets from Ocean State Job Lots and they are wearing decently.

I have some nice IKEA cotton sheets that feel cool. They don't come out of the dryer looking like they were ironed but once they are on the bed they smooth out nicely. They weren't expensive. They accommodate a 12" mattress nicely. But I live close to an IKEA.
