But, you know, if you wanted to go on vacation, I'd come and tend to the horses for you. What other way could I convince Rosie that she loves me more? lol

Thanks Karla. It's nice that a few more people get to see that there's more to NY than NYC! I've lived in CT for 37 years and we've visited MANY places in NY state - all of them beauriful. And we love NYC too!

Karla, I just showed Mom this post, and she was just in awe. She kept saying "OMG! Look how clear that water is!" And when she said that she would like to see it in the Fall, I told her that we could go that way on our annual jaunt if she wanted!! Beware!!!

Also, she found Nessie and her baby in picture #25!! I missed them till she pointed them out! Can you see them?

Nessie is The Loch Ness Monster. Or, in this case, The Hemlock Lake Monster!

karla, i am a nyc 'girl' who is lucky enough to be familiar with the finger lake area. it is VERY beautiful there. i don't remember the name of the place, but when i was young, my parents rented a cottage there every summer for one week. it was such a change from the city that even getting mosquito bites seemed exotic. my husband and i blew through a couple of years ago, on a canadian trip, and it was still the same. thanks for the photos.

You are correct, this is not what I think of New York! Thank you for clueing me in. The water is so clear! Reminds me of Missouri.I usually camp atleast 1 week a year on the Jacks fork river. I didn't this year...don't feel quite right..not myself. Beautiful lake.

I am so glad folks can see NY--the rest of the story. It was a shock to me to know people always saw a city with they heard "New York." I must get the word, or the photos, out there to stop the wrong illusions.

We went on Canadice Lake yesterday, and I went on Canandaigua Lake Thursday. Yesterday I saw so many photos I wanted to take, but I left the camera home. A paddle to take pictures is a whole different kind of paddle. Rachel took the "bathtub" (shorter kayak) this time and she sure noticed the difference. :D
