The orginal Raggedy Ann and Andy pattern called for loops of red yarn to be sewn directly onto the doll's heads, I just hated doing it that way. Years ago I bought a Country Ann and Andy pattern and it said to rip 1" or 1 1/2" strips of fabric for the hair. The strips are sewn into 3" loops and then hand sewn onto the doll's head. Easier said than done. The apron in the country pattern was stitched onto the doll's dress so I used the pattern from the orginal dolll that has shoulder strips and ties in the back.

Raggedy Ann and Andy were the only "dolls" I ever wanted as a child. Great Job!

Made many of these dolls years ago for my granddaughters and nieces but didn't remember that they are labor intensive. Made a few mistakes this time, didn't cut the skirt on the fold and wondered why the dress was so tight, fixed that and made the same dumb mistake when cutting the apron. In spite of my mistakes she came out pretty cute. May in Jersey
Really Cute!
