Very interesting discussion on this topic! But what I really want to know is - WHO is buying all of these cars as Christmas presents?! Seriously, every other commercial is for a car. I do not personally know anyone who has either received or given a car as a gift. Maybe I'm just a poor middle-class girl and I don't know how the other half lives.

I don't mind the Jingle Bells one. DH rolls his eyes but I bet he wouldn't if it was a bunch of cute girls doing it. LOL. I hate any Flo commercial and the Geico ones get on my last nerve too. I think my most hated one right now is the Toaster Strudel one with the little fake swedish (or whatever he's supposed to be) boy saying "Toaster Strooooodel, yah?". **shudder**

I read a post on (I think it was) an etiquette board, where someone described her FIL buying a car for MIL for the holidays like they show on the ads. The MIL was so upset (spent too much or whatever) and lambasted her hubby up one side and down the other! Now I always think of that when I see those.
I will go out on a big limb - the ones I hate are the "Diamonds = Love" commercials with the starry-eyed young couples. Might as well have toddlers on there as far as I'm concerned. At that age love is all cotton candy, moonlight and yes, wishes for big diamonds.
If I was making an ad, I would show a couple I saw at the cancer center at the hospital recently. He was pushing her in a wheelchair, she had lost her hair through chemo. They sat down together in the waiting room and held hands. Then I noticed that one of his legs was a prosthetic. I bet they could teach young people a few things about love.
I know, I know, they are just trying to sell diamonds...
ETA - no, I don't have any diamonds, married 33 years and with just a plain gold band. OK, rant over.

I think the jingle bells boxer one is great---something for the ladies for a change instead of for the guys. My hubby gets a kick out of it as well-----it is just in fun! I have not actually seen a holiday one that I cannot stand. We have commercials for Scana Energy that are just so stupid and make no sense that we cringe every time one comes on.

Oh yeah I hate the two guys from Sonic. Even if we had a Sonic I would go because of the one (and I hate the other one by association).
LOL. There are soooo many more reasons to not buy a Dodge too.
