I loved that story and it made me think of Mama's machine we parted with before she died. How I now regret that. At the time we thought it was going to the local senior center where it would be used and appreciated, but that was not what happened.

Was it the dust from cleaning the sewing machine that made my eyes water, or the story itself. Beautiful story.

That is a really cool story. Thank you.

My grandma taught me to sew, and I've always wished I had her old Featherweight.

Love this story! My mom still sews on her old treadle machine she inherited from her great grandmother. I will have the machine eventually. I learned to sew on it with my mom teaching me.

Thanks so much to all of you for your comments and truly glad to know you liked the story I wrote. Wish I'd had a picture of a Treadle sewing machine to go with it at the time I wrote it. Oh well, I saw it in my mind and that is good enough, I suppose.

thanks again.

That was a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it. I feel that way about all the machines. They were made to be loved and used.
