What great pictures. I have never seen so many REAL pictures of an event. Usually we get one or two posed type pics. But these make you really feel for the farmer and the horses cattle etc. What a terrible thing . I don't know much about volcanos but does the ash ruin the land? I would think that the toxins in the ash would kill everthing for years to come. Altho farmers burn their fields in SD to make the crop better the next year (I think) I grew up by the ocean, not many farmers etc. Thanks so much for the pics. I really enjoyed them.

Those are incredible pictures. Does the volcano make it's own lightning?

Amazing how the volcano is making it's own weather. Volcaninic ash is a great soil supplement, but for now it seem that is will choke everything out, killing what is now growing. These poor people, I know that there is another volcano getting to erupt over there, these next few years will be hard ones for them, I am sure.

I watched a special on Discovery channel of the volcano erupting, I think the people who filmed it are nuts!

What amazing photos. I feel for the farmers. There has to be alot of hardship now with feeding the animals. Depending on the way the wind has been blowing there are fields that are ruined. The earth is starting to tell us something.

I have yet to figure out why people insist on LIVING under, beside, below, etc a volcano - especially one that they know erupts periodically. That's like living on a fault line...
Yes, WE are close to hurricanes but we are 95 miles from the coast... no fault lines within too many miles and no volcanoes!
Of course, if the huge caldera that is Yellowstone goes we're all toast so guess it doesn't matter...

These pictures are totally mind boggling. Great photography. In its own way it is a beautiful sight of nature, but so bad for the people and animals living in the affected areas.
Thanks for sharing.
