Sad news was on our evening news that a 21 year old boy died while practicing at the Olympics a few hours ago.

I'll be watching, too. Love the opening ceremonies!

Yes, I did see that news story about the luge incident when I booted up the laptop this afternoon. How sad for his team and family. I hope that is the only tragedy this year.

The Olympics are starting now so turn your tv on!

Have fun and anyone going to be working on any small quilt projects while you will be watching the Olympics?

I will be watching the Olympics. I have a needlepoint that I work on during TV time with my husband every evening. I am looking forward to see the opening ceremonies. I don't think any country will ever be able to out-do what China did.
I heard about the young man. Such a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family.

Well, rats, we can't get it. We don't have cable or anything special...just that new box thing and CBS doesn't come in. Poo.

I am so proud to be Canadian at this moment while watching the opening ceremonies, and pleased to see the respect shown to our native peoples.

Hmm--I don't know how to work the TV at all--but hubby said it's on our channel 3 and we don't get it anymore.

I am watching the opening ceramonies. One of my painting students will be there watching her daughter on the US hockey team.
    How exciting!!!

    Barnbum,
I went to your web site and fell in love with your horses and your quilts. Everything is just beautiful. Thanks for letting me have a 'looksee' as my sister and I say.

The opening ceremonies were outstanding and I quilted and watched until it was entirely over.

My only concern is about the luge run. It seems to me like they should evaluate the safety of it before any further competition or practices. The turn where the young man perished has been referred to as the 50/50 turn. And that is what the athletes themselves call it! Fix it, fix it, fix it.......

(at least they should cover those huge poles with some substantial padding)
