I have 4 cats and none declawed, pure torture. They all use scratching posts. I have four around the house and recover them with carpet scraps from the local flooring store. I used catnip on them at first to get them to use it.

We had a cat once that kept climbing tall oak trees and my mom would have to get the ladder to get her down (no braches). She would just run straight up and stay there and meow. My mom would mutter oh you stupid cat, you stupid cat and yup that is what her name ended up being - Stupid. But she was a sweetie. She even went to Germany with us for 18 months.

All cats in England have claws as declawing is illegal!

I have two cats, one loves being indoors the other insists on going out when he feels like it.... He bashes the door, meows, paws the keys etc. He has been "done", has all his jabs and is microchipped.

My vet said it should be illegal here too.

My outside cats are strays that showed up. I feed them and provide a warm dry place to sleep but they are not living in my home. They are not house pets.
