One year we had to many pies for christmas, so I sent a pumpkin pie home with my grandaughter's boyfriend. His parents said it was the best pumpkin pie they had ever had. The following year they actually put in a request for me to bake thier pumpkin pies. I felt really honored for them to request one of my pies.. untill I had a piece of pie that evening and realized I had forgot to put sugar in the pie.. They havent requested anymore pies since.. LOL

My daughter misread a recipe once while making peanut butter cookies. She put in a CUP of baking soda instead of a teaspoon. The cookies looked beautiful, but I can't forget the sizzling on my tongue.

try msg on popcorn. ewwwwwww. i was visiting my aunt and she used msg in a shaker just like the salt shaker.
or gravy with sugar. my son, when he was very young, liked to sneak out early in am while we were still sleeping and mix things. he put sugar in the flour.

Then of course my daughter had to put it on Facebook yesterday. She said that the first one who responded was a guy that she hadn't talked with for over a year, and he said that he couldn't stop laughing!
My coffee cake today was much beter!
My GS, who is 7 is enjoying reading other's comments. He's the first one to comment on the coffeecake yesterday! The twins, 2, asked for more!!!

Lol. Reminds me of the time my kids made kool-aid and said it didn't taste right. I asked if they put enough sugar in so they added more. Still not right. I watched them add more sugar the next time and noticed they were adding salt instead. That had to have tasted NASTY.

My biggest mistake: I was cooking in a restaurant and made a big pot of soup every day. That day it was chicken and dumpling. When mixing the dumplings I used baking soda instead of baking powder. Ever seen green dumplings? And the stink was awful. We had to throw out the soup. I was lucky I didn't get fired. My boss gave me a hard time about that for months.
