I've got pictures and videos of all of these adventures.. Remember....I'm the one having all the fun. I guess I fear the trolls and the crazies. My quilting/bird friend put one video on the facebook and got a dreadful person in Ohio who said what I had done was illegal in Ohio.

Technically a Federal law states it's illegal in any state to take in wild birds or their chicks. It's actually illegal to disturb or destroy a bird nest once it has eggs in it. However many of us do take in orphaned or injured birds, because not all areas have licensed Rehabber's. I think unless you take in say a Bald Eagle or a hawk or some other large bird no one is going to make a fuss or arrest you. You did a good job taking care of them. That's all that matters .

As far as you taking her 4 miles away.....that's nothing to a bird. I have a Purple Martin colony & they migrate over 5000 miles every spring & fall. So she may came back some day & visit.

PS: Your cakes look YUMMY .

Well, I want to apologize to the Audubon community, the Federal Govt., all blue birds everywhere. I meant no harm. I am thrilled that the little female apparently made it.

I made an 8 x 10 of the "selfie" and will frame that.
