We went to Detroit Lake today and while there my DD Chloe caught some salamanders for her little brother Maxwell. It was a good day at the lake!

Aren't they just don't get them too close to me, and keep them on the back of the boat if you please. They are a little to close to snake looking creatures for my comfort. LOL. I also, have a Peter and Samantha for kids ;-)

I think they are cute. It was so nice of her to catch them for her brother.

    Oh wow!!

Have they filled Detroit Lake up yet? Last time we went through there is was so low the marina docks were on the lake floor......LOL

We almost bought a house near there near a town called Idanha. A cute place right on the river, but waterfront property is outrageous.

Brings back memories of when I was a kid. I loved to catch salamanders, pollywogs and big fat bullfrogs. All great fun for young kids. Glad yours had a great time.

Oh, yes it's filled. It rained so much in May and June we barely got out there. We went on Memorial day the forecast was for low 70s we got there is was a heavy mist and so cold that we eventually went home. Today was super.
I would love property on a lake somewhere or close to the ocean water is so soothing.

It's hard to tell who has more fun Chloe catching them (she's 16) or Maxwell playing with them (he's 4). LOL

Last year we were in my dad's boat and Chloe scooped one up and threw it behind her (the angle of the boat prevented her from just grabbing them and bringing them into the boat), it landed on my husband's chest. I have NEVER seen that man move so fast in my life I was laughing so hard because he TOTALLY freaked out like a little girl. Brushing off his shirt repeatedly like it was still on him. If I had only had a video camera rolling we could have won the $10,000 America's Funniest Videos. I still nearly laugh just remembering the whole scene.
