Thought I would post a few pics of our hummingbirds. I enjoy watching them. They are really a very friendly and 'personable' bird.
If we stand still and hold out a hand they will light there!

We do get a variety of other birds...cardinals, jays, wrens, finches, pileated woodpeckers....but it can be rather costly feeding them!
I've told my husband to CUT BACK! you're feeding them too much!!
Judging by the last picture here...they are well fed!! LOL!

No, seriously though, we have 2 tom turkey that come up EVERY day and glean the ground under the bird feeder.
We just refer to them as "the boys".

They are so cute! The ones we have do not get along with each other. They won't sit on the same feeder at the same time like that. They chase each other off and sit on the power lines to wait their turn.

Beautiful photos!! They are hard to catch not in blurred form. Turkeys are easier.

I don't feed my hummers, they like the trumpet vine more than nectar.

Same here. I have three, but they will only feed one at a time.

Oh, ours fight too!! We have approx 24 birds right now. Sometime while fighting they have slammed into our glass doors and really stun themselves.
We hang 4 feeders to try and keep them pacified.

here's one that "beaned" himself on the glass door. He lay in the towel we put him in for almost 45 minutes...we were starting to think he wasn't going to make it...them out he came. :D

The hummingbirds are so cute. Although I have a major phobia about anything with feathers I do love hummingbirds.
The turkeys........well, Thanksgiving is coming soon.

I don't feed the hummingbirds but I do feed the other birds, last winter they ate 150# of bird seed. I love to watch from the windows and see what type of birds come to my yard, and of course a squirrel or two.

Your pictures are great. I just love watching our hummers, too. We have wild turkeys as well and they are amusing....... We didn't see any baby turkeys this summer and I don't know what that means????

Every April there is one hummer that comes and dances by my window (me thinks he is saying "FEED ME". So, I do. Then he and she have their babies and then we have four every year. This time of the year they feed like crazy (fun to watch) to ready themselves for their long long trip to warmer areas. So I stop their feeding at the end of August and wait again until April. They are so awesome, their little bodies and so much power. God surely does not make junk.

We have many beautiful birds that visit our feeders and that nest in the wooded area at the rear of our property and I love watching all of them. Hummingbirds are particularly fascinating to me. They are the smallest of the birds yet they are the boldest and have quite a loud "voice" in relation to their size. It's great fun to watch their antics when they all start dive-bombing each other and fighting in mid-air. And they just about knock the feeders down when they are empty just to remind us to fill them up again. I think God must have had a fun time when he was creating all of the wonders of our world!
