I have seen hundreds of gourds since I last posted, I like to fill my brain up with all sorts of images and then something happens and bingo, I paint something hahahahah....Ok I love leaves. I will paint one with leaves ...will post soon.

I guess you can google it? my friend just buys gourds where she can find them. I also have some large shaped ones, not cut, and those might be santas or something else. I use a line of paint called DecoArt Americana Acrylics. I like those because they are thicker and have a real high pigment content, as I love good color. You can find them at your local Joann's or you can purchase on line from Decoart.com

Default The Pained Gourd

As Promised, here is a gourd all painted. I Have already antiqued it and all that is left is to varnish. Here are a few photos. If you check my bog, I have done a kinda Tut on it from beginning to end.

The last two pics you can see how mellow the fruit looks after the antiquing.

Default Red Gourd

I finished the Red Gourd. It is antiqued at this stage and not varnished yet. I usually wait until I have a few pieces to varnish. On to the next Gourd lol.
