My DH and I celebrated our 40th a week ago. Our oldest child is almost 39. Between 4 kids, 6 grandkids and multiple dogs - he says he hasn't had a private s**t in 39 years.

I was not on the way to the bathroom but while carrying my laptop one of my dogs got under my feet and I started to fall forward. As I was going down I had to make the decision to let go of the laptop to catch myself so I could break the fall. Laptop was destroyed but I was okay.

When my kids were young, I'd often come out of the bathroom to find everyone else who lived in the house (one husband, two daughters, and one cat) standing just outside the door waiting for me.

Nowadays, one of my two cats will nearly trip me, trying to race ahead and get into the bathroom before I do. The other one will follow but will often just sit down at the doorway, waiting to be "invited" in. If I just close the door in her face, she'll scratch at the doorjamb and then lie down and stick her paws underneath the door.

Sounds like my house. My greyhound, Lizzie, likes to sleep in the middle of the hall in front of the door to the kitchen. I have to step over her all the time. Now she's laying next to me on her dog bed. She's never very far away from us.

Yes, everyone follows me into the bathroom, both my grandsons, 6 and 7; the cat, my greyhound, the two boys talk incessantly at the same time, the cat meows, and the dog whines... if only they would play the same tune....

My Blue Heeler is right here under my foot at the computer. If I move he wakes up to see what is going on. The neighbor once told me if I stop quick we will have to go to the hospital because he is going to be stuck somewhere that she won't be able to get him out. My kids never stayed this close.

doggies-or pets of any kind love unconditionaly-on their terms. my little chi-pom sleeps down on the corner of the bed, closests to the fan...but when I get up in the nite, she makes a beeline to the top & scoots under the sheets,if a pillow is handy her head is on it-then comes the big charade-she acts as tho I have disturbed a sound sleep, can barely walk straight with all the yawning, getting back to her place when I come back a few min. later.
