This is a "funny" from one of the German quilting forums. One of the threads had an attachment where a local German quilter was interviewed and it was reported that she was active in assorted quilting techniques - one of them being the "parsley" technique (Petersilientechnik).

We all asked what the heck that was. Is it a new technique? Is it something that includes nature? Is it a bad translation for paisley?????

The OP got in touch with the woman in the article and the answer is:

A translation error by the editing staff (obviously non-quilters ;)). Somehow "paper piecing" morphed into "parsley technique."

Even a bad translation should get closer than that!
