Drat...my computer is windows. Think I'll just have to dedicate a little time to reviewing pdfs and emailing ones I want to my computer and then copy to my external harddrive. Thanks for clarifying Airdrop!

I have a HUGE USB hard drive that I use to store my embroidery and pattern files. I only plug it into a computer when I need to store or retrieve something. It works like an internal C: drive, but it can be used on more than one computer. I think it cost me $60. That's cheap insurance against losing all my files.

I was going to recommend Dropbox also. It works on Windows as well as Apple products. I used to transfer files between my windows desktop and Apple iPad all the time. Dropbox is basically an off-site storage area, so I would also save files to my desktop hard drive.

I have 3 flash drives - photos, craft and paperwork. I schedule one morning a month (I do it on the 15th- easy to remember and plan) to load them with new stuff and then they sit in the drawer happy and safe! Once you have lost files, you will realize how important this few minutes each month is (and the cost for the drives was under $20 for the set!).
