Default Petal Bags

Every year my sewing guild chapter has a luncheon get together. I make small gifts for the ladies in my group and this year I made these little petal bags. I put Halloween socks in each one. I couldn't find the directions for the ones I made, it was a free pattern online, but I did find this site and her instructions are pretty much the same, except she doesn't have the little pockets on the inside.

Is there a way to sew a handle on them to use as a purse? Those are really cute.
