Default Pillows for Reading Time...

My youngest daughter has three kids still at home and she reads to them each night. I sent her a small lap quilt when I first started quilting and had an extra block left over, so I made it into a pillow. She said it's perfect, but has since told me she's had to mend it as I probably over-stuffed it. (I like chubby pillows.) So for Christmas this year, I made each family member their own pillows. She and her daughter love birds, so I made two with tropical parrots on them and the boys like tropical fish, so I made two with tropical fish. Her daughter loves most animals so I also made one with a panel of birds on one side and fish on the other. It'll go with the quilt I made for her birthday and have the parrots she loves too.

Pretty! When I made some last time, I used pillow forms and did the covers with french seams. They hold up great.

I have used pillow forms, but am using my stash this year as I can. I have been blessed with much of it! I did use double sewn seams in a pillow for my granddaughter, but I was expecting the 12" pillow to be decoration only. :-)
