The only thing I've done by hand is sew the final step of the border on. Everything else is done by machine.

yes, quite a few . In the first 30 or so years of quilting, i didn't know about LA's. I also used templates and cut with scissors beside hand piecing and hand quilting.

Yes, at least once (my second quilt). I've done some hand pieced tied quilts too.
