"Borough's Solution." You can get it at the drug store. It comes as a packet of dry crystals that you mix with water. Then soak strips of fabric in the solution, and place on the poison ivy spots. It seems to dry them up.

This is what my mom used years ago & it really helped. Wish I could find something for DS's chiggers.

Regarding chiggers....if they have already established their hold on you, simply mix up some sulphur and vasoline into a nice paste and put it on the little red round spots. The mixture seems to suffocate them in their home. At least the itching stops. You can get the sulphur at the pharmacy. Sometimes they have to order it from a supplier.

You can also put this mixture on before going out. Dab some where your clothes may be a little tight. Chiggers like tight spots. Good Luck.

Bad case of poison ivy I have also. Mine is starting to heal. Since I have Diabetes, it takes me longer to heal. I find that bleach water works great. It will try it up and save expense of a doctor visit. Also Chlorine will dry it up. Don't use pure bleach on your skin, will cause it to get red and infected. Dilute with water. Good Luck. Seems the older I get the worse the poison ivy
