I wash them before I put fresh food or water in them, which means at least daily. I have six food dishes and two water dishes available, so there are normally some ready to be used. I have two dogs.

Everyday for the food dish and twice daily for the water. He's spoiled and doesn't want his water to sit and get warm.

Peach insists on clean dishes for every meal..wants fresh water, too. He also comes after me when he uses his litter box.

Every meal. I make their dogfood and use chicken, so I am afraid to leave it in the dishes even a short while

Bowls are washed as needed. He eats dry food, and a spoonful of yogurt (vet approved) once a week (keeps the cat breath at bay). He has 1 food bowl and 2 water bowls- 1 by the food, and the other at the other end of the house. Somehow the water bowls need to be washed at least twice a day because there's always food crumbs in them?

Daily, I wouldn't want to eat and drink from dirty dishes so she shouldn't have to either. (Sheltie-Jack Russell mix)
