Pooh's Hunny Pot...DONE!!!
#1
I may still go back to the drawing board for another pot someday to try another technique but for the time being I'm thrilled with the way this one turned out! Although bigger than I originally planned, the size turned out perfect. Along the process of making it I found some old Pooh and friends stuffed toys that I forgot I had! This pot is just the right size for hiding these little guys in it. My DGD will be thrilled to open up the pot to find them inside!
Purple is currently my DGD's favorite color (hence the purple pot) but Pooh is her favorite character. So this is Pooh's "Hunny Pot"...with honey colored fabric to represent the honey oozing over the top! ;-)
With this fabric cover I used elastic and not a string to gather it closed just a tad. This is so she can open it by herself and doesn't need a parent to help her manage it. Also, I don't want any strings that could be pulled out and misused accidentally since she's only 2 and has a little brother due in just 5 weeks.
For those interested, the letters were made using Steam a Seam 2. Then ironed on. Later I went back and put a bit of Liquid stitch along the edges just to make sure they can't be pulled off.
Thanks for indulging in my current basket making endeavors...the more I make the more fun they are! blessings, Karen
