Default Pre Hallowe'en Horrors - Not for the Faint of Heart

I guess I sew a lot. LOL I'd been having a few issues with the Tension on my Janome so thanks to the link posted today http://shesasewingmachinemechanic.bl...o-balance.html I decide today was the day.
So lookie what I did! The first 2 are the Janome, a top loading machine. And at the same time I fixed the tension issue ( Yea Me) The second is my big Juki a side loader. Wish the rest of the house was this easy!
( I swear I just cleaned them both last.......?)

They sure needed a cleaning. I have found after I use my little cleaning brush, the best thing to collect any tiny fuzzies is a pipe cleaner.

Tartan, what kind of pipe cleaners do you buy? I have tried both polyester and natural and gave up using them because they both shed lint like crazy. Finally bought a wooly brush at a quilt show for an exorbitant price, and now can't find it. Pipe cleaners make so much sense, but all the ones I have tried shed!

I just buy mine at the $ Store. They don't appear to shed at all. And then toss them.

I use Q tips to pick up the fuzzies. They work great for me.

I do the q-tip swish every time I change the bobbin. They are little dust magnets.

Wow! I have never seen that much fuzz in a machine before. Took me by surprise! lol Seems like your machine would of been making a strange noise or something. Good thing you checked it when you did

Oh, how easy it is to say, 'next time' because we are too busy to bother 'this time'. But, it does catch up with us. Those are certainly some big dust bunnies.
