Default Printer won't print!

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I don't know where else to go. All of a sudden, my printer won't print from my laptop. It works well with my pc but not from my laptop. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, turning everything off and unplugging and re-installing it. I've e-mailed hp and googled it but still no luck. I hope some one on here can help me. Thank you all.

Don't know for sure that you have an HP but I went into their website somewhere and downloaded a diagnostic tool that they provide. Don't know what it did but it fixed my problem. You might look for that. I wouldn't use just any diagnostic tool but only the one provided by HP. I believe it is still on my computer so I can use it again if I have the need. Just thought this might possibly help you. I too had tried everything I could think of to fix the problem. Wishing you luck.

We have that issue periodically. Some days it prints from the laptop; some days not. We just kind of live with it. Might have to try that tool.

Make sure when you hit print and the window appears the printer indicated at the top of the print screen/box is the printer you are using. When Windows updates my computer it messes up my printer. Another route is to go to the control panel , look at the printers, see if you have any in que waiting to print, and which printer it is trying to send it to. If you have ever changed printers the old printer may still be in the control panel, and it may be trying to send to that printer.

If you have a system dialog box, be sure that it is set to select the correct printer. Sometimes the uninstalling and reinstalling creates printer copy 1, copy 2, etc. Absolutely a pain along with the phantom paper jams.

Last week I had the same thing happen to mw, my Epson printer wouldn't print. I tried everything…even called Epson. They said it was out of warranty…buy a new one. Good thing I didn't . A few days later sitting at my computer I needed a piece of paper..so I grabbed one out of the feeder of the printer to use…it was stuck…I pulled the few sheets of paper that was in the feeder and the printer turned on !!! It works beautifully…Something so simple as that.. Hope you'r works just as well.

Most of the time, my HP does the same. I go to settings...choose my printer...click on printer in tool bar there...check to see if "use printer offline" is checked. If it is I simply have to 'uncheck'. Have not been able to make the change so that I don't have to do this every time I print from laptop.
