Karla, that soup you made sounds yummy!! I think I need to make some!

Thank you for the encouragement. I have multiple pulmonary emboli and a saddle embolis and dvt. (no phlebitis) I am very much blessed to be still breathing. Our hospital has only had 6 people live through lungs like mine. What I'm trying to do is reduce, and reduce my insulin intake (120 units daily). It would really help my survival chances.

I'm in. I have been trying to do WW at home since about the end of August. I have lost 14 lbs, but can't seem to get past this point. I really need to lose another 20 to be at a healthy weight for my height. My daughter who had gained tons of weight when she broke her ankle 3 yrs. ago, started WW on her birthday and has lost 50 lbs so far. She puts me to shame! But I am trying still. I like the WW chili and the WW taco soup, really good and only 1 point per cup.

I want to join with you all. I have been reading this board for quite a while, but have not posted. In fact, I had not even registered. But, I need support with this endeavor as well as with my quilting. So here I am.
Hi Everyone.

I'm loving everyone joining us! :)

obie2, Welcome to the board! Glad we got you to come out and play with us!

Lneal 01-23-2010 06:51 PM

Hi obie2!! Great to have you on board with us!! You will find a lot of expert advice here and lots of tips!! I was wondering if anybody has thought of posting their favorite low cal recipes in the " recipe section?"

AwwwGeee!!! I had just written a real nice loonnggg note or novelette. It went "pouff". I must have gotten timed out, or stumbled into gremlin country.

I'll try again, in a minute.

I have gotten some great, easy receipes off of the RealAge site. That's Dr. Oz's page. Also, EatingWell and the CalorieCount site too. I keep a food log, with calorie count and fat count. I try to stay at a 1200 cal plan and at 35 fat grams. Sometimes, I fail miserably. This holiday did me in. Too much food with all the eat out events I had to attend.

Okay, I admit it. I have a real problem. I lose weight, then it finds me again. First time it was 40 pounds off, and regained 20. Kept level for a few years. Moved and gained 60 pounds. Lost 40, gained 60... A broken bone and two surgeries later, I am needing to lose 80 pounds. I am going to 'weigh in'. That's my first commitment.

We just purchased a treadmill, so I will be using that any time I watch TV. My DH agreed to help me with this, and we have cut out desserts - now we have our fruit for dessert. Other changes are in the works.

Thanks for this thread, Lneal.

By the way, you probably wouldn't believe how long it has been since I even wore a dress. I can't bear the look of my legs...

Quilt Mom - I don't even OWN a dress anymore. I'm right there with you...
