I have questions....
1. Do we post our weight loss each week or just at the end of the month?
2. Do we post here or PM LNeal?

In answer to your questions about posting, at the end of March I will pm everyone with a reminder that on March 29 send me (Lneal) your weight loss. This way a winner can be determined or if the month has resulted in a tie.
If you would like to post how you are losing weekly you may do so on the "Weigh In" thread. I had thought at the start it would be a good idea to keep it a secret as not to discourage anyone from losing and winning the fq. However, I think we would benefit more from sharing than keeping quiet.
So, (if anyone chooses) to post those losses then we can all get the encouragement from each other. It is not necessary to post weekly unless you want to. There are no rules about that.
It would be better to post everything to the "Weigh In" thread for one location. Hope this helps, it's all new with the reward/incentive going on so if anyone has suggestions to make it better I would welcome your pm. Thanks
:D :-D :D

So I got sick with an infection and I felt crappy so I ate. and ate. and ate. So now I weigh 3 lbs more than before. I have my fat quarter ready and I'll be on top of it next month! Watch put you big loser, cause I'm gonna win the fq's in April!!

JudeWill 03-25-2010 01:05 PM

Lousy. Lost & gained the same pound over & over all month. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

trupeach 03-25-2010 01:25 PM

JudyWill and yourstrulyquilts............think positive and keep saying "I CAN DO IT I CAN DO IT" I don't know why but today I am craving corn muffins I am going to google and see if I could find a fat free recipe. I don't know why I have such a craving I am tempted to eat the cornmeal uncooked straight from the bag. Maybe my body needs something in the corn............thinking.......... maybe I should make popcorn if it is a corn craving, that will work and I don't have to bake or clean up or have muffins for a week   tempting me to eat them. I think I will google health benefits of corn to see what my body is lacking.

Leota 03-25-2010 02:14 PM

Well, I lost 2 lbs but that's all...still sitting on the same number...:(
I'm trying to break that number...usually, I get down to that number and then go back up...trying to get below that ugly number and keep going down...
Keep trying... Remember...we are NOT DIEting... we are LIFE changing... Old habits are hard to change and stress piles on the weight faster than "wrong" foods...
When stressed...eat an apple or a carrot... and then do some punching activity..(visuallize whoever/whatever you are upset at) Don't give up...

I'm doing ok for now, I went to the foot Dr and now he tells me I have tendonitess, (spelled wrong for sure) how did it go from a fracture to this?? He was in the room all of two minutes and said keep up what your doing and I'll see ya in four weeks, I don't think so.

Ok??? did he take x-rays for the "fracture"? I would call him back into the room and demand why the change in diagnosis. Can you get a 2nd opinion? I would. Too often, doctors think that we don't need to know details of why they change their diagnosis or worse yet... they don't look at the records and forget which patient they are talking about...
I hope your foot gets better.

Yes they took x-rays and my foot was in a soft cast for 4 weeks, + he had treated it for two weeks before the cast with pain patches. He told me it was worse than a brake? I just don't understand Dr's today.

That's the attitude!! You go girl!

BrendaB 03-25-2010 08:35 PM

A while back, I said if I weighed during the month, it would not be good for me. I was right. I weighed about the 15th of the month and was the same weight even though I had made a lot of changes. Guess what that did? I have my fq's ready. Just need addresses. I'm happy for anyone who has done well, but I'm going to have to start fresh in April. I feel like I let everyone down. :-(

You definitely need to find a new doctor. I would suggest an orthopedic physician; maybe check out sports injury physicians too.

Brenda...You have not let everyone down... Girl you made changes.... it takes 21 days to break a habit....If you're not able to exercise everyday because of "whatever" but you are making an effort ... you're doing something... don't be so hard on yourself.
BTW...how many fqs do I need to make? I know I'm not the winner... :D

Thank you, Leota. :-) I don't know how many fqs we will need, but I bought 8 and if I need more, I have some really nice fabric I would be willing to share. :-)

yourstrulyquilts 03-26-2010 09:34 PM

I think we only need one fq for the top loser.

You are correct. If there is a tie, we will need one for each of the winners, right? I'm just making sure I'm prepared in case there is a really big tie, like 5-6 with the same weight loss. lol

You will only be sending one fat quarter, if there is a tie the fat quarters will be divided equally between them. I'm not a winner, but whoever is will be getting about 33 fat quarters! Wooohooo!!

buddy'smom 03-27-2010 05:07 AM

Well we all have to remember, we make mistakes and work through them one day at a time, life happens, sometimes good-sometimes not so good, we just pick ourselves up and move forward. Each day is new, so if we keep at it we'll all be just fine.
Have a great day ladies.

Leota 03-27-2010 07:07 PM

I moved 9 windows lifting them up into the building opening (don't have the porch attached yet) about 4 feet and 90 2x4's today as well as lifted 4 sheets of 5/16 inch ply wood up about 6ft and held it in place till it was nailed securly... my butt muscles hurt, my back hurts, my arms hurt, my shoulder hurt....Does this count as a work out? I hope I lose below my 147...been there multiple times for the past 2 years... does that count as losing hmmmm 50 pounds :D....

yourstrulyquilts 03-27-2010 07:10 PM

I've lost the same 10 about 10 times.................oh well!

trupeach1 03-30-2010 04:06 PM

Leota: Would you be willing to put your research results in the main Weigh In thread since not everyone comes to this thread. That would be really valuable information that I think a lot of people would be interested in reading. Thanks.
Linda

sewred 03-31-2010 12:52 PM

buddy'smom 03-31-2010 01:03 PM

trupeach1 03-31-2010 01:16 PM

Everyone is doing great no matter how much we lost or didn't lose we are all trying to have a healthy eating lifestyle and that is all that matters. When we hit a certain age hormones are a big factor in weight loss, ever wonder why female dogs get fat after they are fixed????? I realize if I don't do something about my weight NOW I will be in BIG trouble in a few years. I am also anal when it comes to eating. I will weigh and measure everything I eat I will not cheat except on my cheat day. I am also a cook/chef so I love to cook and I NEVER EVER eat take out. I am very strick with what I eat down to no dressing on my salad just salt and pepper. NO SUGAR AT ALL!!!!!!!!! Carbs to a minimum. I am proud of myself since I started to diet the middle of Feb I have lost 15 lbs. I have 50 more to go, yes I am a porker but it took several months to get like this. We are all here for each other. Not only for quilting but for help in every aspect of our lives. I count myself lucky to be part of this wonderful group, if we can quilt together we can all lose weight together. We are all cheerleaders encouraging each other.

WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF OURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
