It is wonderful when someone appreciates a quilt and lets you know it! You must be so proud! You made his day!

yes, I did, and shared on the pictures thread a couple of weeks ago but here it is again...and I was very happy to have made this for him....I knew he would be happy just not quite this reaction. He is a hoot and we typically write each other because of his hearing issues. He types his letters using 2 fingers. He really is precious and I wish he lived closer....he lives in Pennsylvania and me in California...

Aw Teen, best reaction ever. Makes you feel awesome inside. I can tell how much you love and appreciate him.

Both your story and the quilt are beautiful and made me smile

Just a bit of a side story....he and his wife have been married for 77 years. She is a British war bride and is just as precious. My last visit...about 7 years ago, he made me his Dandolion wine, which was delicious, and gave me a tour of my mom's (his 1st cousin) hometown where he still resides. If I have a question about any family history, I write him and ask. When my family loses him, it will be a great loss...but that won't happen for another 10 years...lol!

How wonderful that he was so excited by your beautiful quilt. It's not often you get a reaction like that.

what a great reaction! Do get him to record some of that family history--maybe send him some interview type questions and ask him to record the things he remembers. What a treasure!

A WWII Vet from church became a friend to us and I make him a Vet's quilt--he loved it and actually did have it covering his casket at the funeral. I was so glad that his DIL got the quilt as she'd taken him on the WWII trip to D.C. that was so important to him.

Beautiful story! But please have him take a picture of him with the quilt and you can have it for memories.

How wonderful. The quilt is beautiful but the response is outstanding. I know that feeling when you get a response like that and it is to be treasured.
