I love it, and so will that lucky little girl! If you really want to upgrade from the shoe boxes, someone recently posted a link to a free pattern for fabric storage boxes, and you could custom size them to fit the shelf space - just an idea. I have lost track of the link, but it's not rocket science (for a quilter, anyway) to sew a box, and you can use plastic canvas or recycled cardboard to give it body. I think the design I saw had pockets that let the plastic or cardboard be removed for machine washing.

What a great idea. Looking forward to seeing the clothes you make.

Wonderful! She will love it and you for making it. Hope you'll be with her when she opens her present.

So after looking on things to purchase (please, it's a doll), we made this!! I saw a 2 shelf 32X32 bookcase at Staples, on sale $24.99. Lowered the shelf and added a rod to hang up clothes (wooden shower rod holders). Put shoe boxes on bottom to hold undies and little things (not perfect just what I had on hand, need to keep looking). TA-DA!!
