3 year UFO done

I bought this 1956 Nash Metro 3 years ago and my husband has been working to restore it for the past 3 years. I helped a little and I did most of the interior.

I just wanted to share my little car with you. In the one picture, I am driving and my SIL is riding.

I drove it for the 1st time about a month ago.

She is gorgeous! That interior is amazing, and I love the matching pillow. Super job. My brother had a Nash Rambler way back in the last century, a little deeper blue. Super job!

rootyr 07-07-2012 03:46 PM

That is so cool!!

Barbm 07-07-2012 03:49 PM

It's a Met- short for Metropolitan. A Metro was made by GEO and doesn't look anything like this car. I have a '57, mardi gras red and frost white. Not a convertible, although our son has a '60 yellow and white one- he uses it as his daily driver in the summer.

Be careful- they are like Lays potato chips- you can't have just one! :)

luv2so 07-07-2012 04:09 PM

Oh my gosh! My mother had one just like that when I was little! The only difference is the color. Her's was a pretty shade of turquoise, or aqua.

She called it her "Puddle Jumper". They are so cute!

Latrinka 07-07-2012 04:24 PM

It is a beautiful car!

OHSue 07-07-2012 04:31 PM

My first car was a new Metropolitan, torquoise, hard top, purchase price $1650!! Loved it, and had lots of fun. Top speed was 62 mph and I got a hot foot (heat, not speed) if I drove it at that speed for any amount time. Lucky you!
