Good point, definitely a waste of time. I am so glad I quit watching them & don't even miss them...

I can remember my mom watching "The Secret Storm" and "As the World Turns".

For all of you old fogies out there....does anyone remember your MOTHER or GM talkin about "the Legend of Hilltop House" on the radio??

My DH and I are heartbroken. We've watched them since they came on. One's canceling in September and the other in January. They are being replaced with shows like The View.

I haven't watched in years either but used to watch ABC's every day. I remember when One Life to Live began.

Whilst I haven't watched any soaps in years, at least they provided alternatives to all the so-called reality shows for some viewers. The lack of scripted shows in the true sense is appalling. The networks have no one to blame but themselves for their gradual demise.

I bet them replace with something stupid like another so-called REALITY TV show...what a stupid thing to do....

how sad for so many SRs on SSI who can not afford cable TV...they have so little left to watch at all these days, the soaps were something they grew up with and loved....

I wish our society had a NO SR left behind act!

Every Monday through Friday I go to work, and about the only thing I look forward to during the day is waiting for lunch so I can watch "One Life To Live"...I may have to retire now :)

Gee I wonder what my DS will tape every day now? She is completely addicted to these two soaps. I guess I should send her a sympathy card. She started watching them when we were young girls. I never got 'into' them. I had too much fun 'hanging' with my brothers and their friends.

Poor ROger Howarth - he left one show, signed the contract to come back to OLTL, and now they will be living, too! How many actors do you think might throw in the towel? Kassie DePava (Max's real wife)will probably be signing more - her husband was let go a few years ago and haven't heard anymore about him ----anyone else?

genafan201 04-16-2011 06:53 AM

I KNEW they were bringing the old Todd back...way too many pictures of him popping up...

If I was picking soaps to cancel, I would pick days of our lives and general hospital. Days of our lives is so boring now days and don't have any of the original cast on there.
Stephano has died 4 times. Come on. Generl Hospital here lately has been Sunny and the Mob. And some of the shows not having anything to do with a hospital. After all the name of the soap is General Hospital.

When I was an educator, once in a while a student would ask which Soap I watched. Told them it was One Wife At A Time. Silence. Then, someone would say, there isn't a soap by that name---and my reply was EXACTLY. Never have watched them.
