Hi Admin I would like to know if you have control over focus in the replay window? I don't really know where it ends up but in every window I open it is not in the typing window. Reply, search, and quick reply. That would make my life easier if you could do that. I just start typing. (I look at my hands) and I look up and I have nothing. The other option is for me to relearn to type and I have been trying that for many years. Old dyslexics can't be taught apparently.

Also if you have any control over it being able to sort the Member listing by member would be awesome!!

Stitching4Fun 06-06-2009 05:36 AM

KWhite,

If you want to see what a certain member has posted, you can click on their name and it takes you to their profile and on the right it has the messages they started and responded to. Just click on that and it shows you their history on here with their postings.

Does this help any?

kwhite, are you talking about having to left click in the boxes to be able to type words. I guess I do not think about it anymore, it is just a habit  I always look for a flashing cursor no matter what site I am on, some are there automatically some are not....

Ninnie 06-06-2009 12:20 PM

I have forgot to click on the box a couple of times and just typed away, just to look up and see nothing! I figured I was the only one, but now I rem!

I added the auto focus.

For new posts/pm it should focus on the subject. For replies, it should focus on the message text area.

Please test it out. Hopefully, it will be working properly.

amma 06-08-2009 12:08 PM

Thanks Admin :D :D :D

Dude you totally ROCK!!!!!!!

Barb M 06-10-2009 02:23 AM

Can someone please explain what this thread is about, and what auto focus is? Thanks :)

kwhite 06-10-2009 04:28 AM

Sure that is geek speak about where the cursor (the blinking line) lands when you start a new thread or reply to one. Have you ever noticed that when you click on reply and the window opens you then had to click again on the box where you type before you start to type? Well now when you hit reply the cursor will already be in the box where you type and you do not have to click again to start typing. Where the cursor begins is called focus. I have been helping develop computer programs for 10 years now and these are things I see that maybe others would not. I hope that helps.

Barb M 06-10-2009 02:30 PM

Oooooh, thanks kwhite for filling me in :) :) :)

Barb M 06-10-2009 02:32 PM

Ok, i just tested it. If you hit post reply, the cursor is in the box, if you hit quick reply, you have to put the cursor there yourself. Funny, i've never looked to see if the cursor is there, i just always automatically put it there, even if it is there lol

kwhite 06-10-2009 03:35 PM

Ahhhh Admin has more work to do. Good catch.

butterflywing 06-10-2009 03:46 PM

while we're on the 'how does it work?' question, above the reply window it says: quote.....code.....list.....img.....url.

what do they do? i'm still fiddling around with color, bold, italics and underline. and what's with the sizes? my computer only knows one size. one size fits all.

kwhite 06-10-2009 03:55 PM

Butterflywing I don't know those answers. Maybe Admin can enlighten us both.

Mousie 06-10-2009 04:04 PM

where is quick reply?

Admin 06-10-2009 04:34 PM

if you hit quick reply, you have to put the cursor there yourself.
I fixed it. Thanks.

You can try the tags when creating a message, and then use the preview button instead of submitting to see what they all do.

kwhite 06-10-2009 04:37 PM

asked and waiting for an answer. it had better not be too dirty or you'll get thrown off the board.

are you sure you're not a 50-year old bald guy with a pot belly and a terrific sense of humor?
