We have several members who live in Alabama and our state has so much destruction and loss of life. Thank goodness our little town didn't have any. The northern part of Alabama has been without electricity until a couple of hours ago due to 2 towers being torn down from the power plant. I awoke a little while ago to the realization that we had lights again! Too bad it takes something like this to make me appreciate something as simple as electrical power. The death toll is now 300 with 2/3 of them in Alabama.

I am watching the news this morning and am so saddened by the havoc these tornadoes are causing. My heart goes out to everyone affected by them. This is one freak of nature that scrars the bejeevies out of me. Prayers going out to everyone in those areas.

Ann, I had that same realization after Ike hit and we were 13 days without power. That is quite humbling.

Glad that you are safe. Praying you stay that way.

I agree, the devastation seen via tv has been simply unbelievable. Prayers for the rescue of those yet to find.

Thinking of you all from Sydney, Australia, horrific and terrifying images on our news here. So sorry for the tragic loss of life and devastation of your homes and communities.
Best wishes.

We're in south Alabama. Had a lot of really strong winds and knew the weather was crazy. But I never expected to see as much destruction as what we saw on tv from these storms. It's going to take a long long time to rebuild from all of this. Last I heard, there were almost 200 people in AL alone that have died. Probably be a higher count this morning as they keep searching. It was so sad watching all of it. Heard there was quite a bit of damage in MS, TN,GA also. Haven't heard as much about them though, maybe we just missed that part of the news. Prayers and hugs for everyone in all the storm ravaged areas.

The pics on our news tonight were terrifying. And the amount of destruction and loss of life leaves one feeling helpless. Prayers and hearts going to all those in the affected areas.

My sister's boss here in Houston lost his Mother in Alabama. Her house was flattened in the storms. He has a sister and a couple of cousins still not accounted for. Please remember this family and all the others in the tragedy.
