If you are unable to tolerate looking at pictures of second degree burns, be forwarned. I think of all all service men that could be helped with this treatment. You won't believe your eyes!

Wish this had been invented years ago, I had many students whose parents had tortured them with burns. So glad we have it now. Thanks for the information.

Oh, how wonderful! Just think of all the people who will live now and with so much less pain than the old way of grafting and waiting. This is fantastic!

There seems to be no limit to the clever folks' imaginative solutions when presented with medical challenges. I find it amazing to see that there are no detectable burn marks so quickly after the damage was done. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, I worked in physical rehab several years back and burns were about the worst--in terms of pain suffered, healing time, and then rehab. This looks so wonderfully amazing.

TanyaL 12-09-2011 10:43 AM

I remember the months we spent in a hospital with a 2yr old who was burned, the debriding of his skin from the burns and the skin grafts, and his screaming. How wonderful this looks! Thank you for finding this for us to view.

It sounds so good but also reported as a hoax ~
http://clinicalposters.com/news/2011...-cell-gun.html

• Viral National Geographic video exaggerates claims of skin cell gun.
• Bioengineered skin cell substitutes are not new.
• Skin cell gun is in experimental stage.

In 2004 after the 3 Hurricanes, Charley, Frances and Jeanne, my husband was burned in accident at work. He had 3rd degree burns on the backs of both hands, a spot about the size of a softball on his stomach and a spot about the size of a 50 cent piece on his left groin area. he had to wear pressure gloves on his hands after he came out of the hospital. He had to wear those gloves for a solid year. The only time he could take them off was when he took a bath. He decided not to wear a pressure girdle so the scar is visible on his stomach but he doesn't mind it and it doesn't bother me. After the year of wearing the pressure gloves his hands were completely healed and the skin was as smooth as a baby's bottom. You could not tell they had been burned. But I wish that the skin spray gun had been available when he was injured. He would have recovered much sooner than he did if it had been used on him.

I saw this months and months ago; hope it is in more widespread use in the US today. Can you just imagine the joy of burn victims with its routie use! Praise the Lord!
