The clothes are just beautiful! I love sewing doll clothes, they sew up fast and they always fit (unlike the clothes I sew for myself sometimes!).

Making doll clothes is so much fun. I have only grandsons. I made Barbi doll clothes for little girls, but my last attemt wshowed that my old arthritic hands can't do it any more. American girl doll is bigger, wish I had a grand daughter or great grand to make them for!

Are you planning on making any matching outfit for GD and doll? I sure hope I get a granddaughter someday! I have lots of patterns saved for the American Doll Girls.

Very sweet! My 11-year-old granddaughter got a sewing machine for Christmas. Last week, I helped her make a nightshirt for herself, but I found some cute 18" doll patterns and that will be the next project. (She told her Dad that she made the nightshirt all by herself. She was so proud of the outcome!)

My son and granddaughter were enroute to deliver our new windows. My DGD called on the cell phone and said, "We're holding the windows for ransom". Me: "What's the ransom?" DGD: "That you make me a dress for my AG doll". Me: "OK, and you can help me". She picked out the fabric and lace and got a new dress and panties for her doll. Then she said, "I need PJ's, a day dress, a coat, hat, shoes, socks, purse......and a wardrobe closet to put them in". They sure can dream, can't they? Now a second DGD got an AG doll for Christmas, so I will be busy sewing doll dresses. They are much smaller than the baptismal gown I just made out of a friends 1st Communion dress!!

When my niece got one of these dolls I made a lot of clothes for her. I loved doing it as I have a son and grandson so no doll sewing there. Sewing doll clothes at age 11 is how I got started sewing.
