This is beautiful and very moving. Take time to listen to the introduction and then the song.
This is worth the time. Angel Flight - A must watch! This video is about a song called "Angel Flight" and how it came about. The first part is about how and why they decided to write this song and the last part is the song. Listen to the words of the pilot and the tower, and make sure you sit quietly and listen at the very end. This is beautiful. God bless all those who keep us free!!. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggkxi...layer_embedded |

What an amazing video and song. When they did whatever they did to make the plane look like it had the wings, it sent chills down my spine. The tears are still falling. My nephew serves on a helicopter with the Canadian army and has been overseas many times.
|
It surley was worth the time to watch, also I prayed for the men and women in the military and their families. Thanks for the reminder.
|
Wow! Goosebumps...... I'm so glad to see so many honoring the men/women that are in our service. I remember the Viet Nam stuff.......this is sooooo much better. Thank you for posting this. {{{Salute}}}

|
Still crying here as well. A dear friends had their son brought home on the Angel Flight. God bless our warriors who sacrifice everything. His picture hangs proudly over our mantel so we will never forgot his sacrifice. That was his Dad's greatest fear, that he would be forgotten. Let's not forget any of them.
Thank you Ditter. |
So beautiful and yet so sad.
|
Thank you, Ditter. My son returned from Afghanistan this past July and it was a joyful time for our family. The song still makes me cry, though.
|
I thank you for sending this to us.

Ditter, Thanks so much for this. I'm the advisor for both of our Honor Society chapters and we present the Veteran's Day Chapel at our school every November. This is going to definitely be a part of our chapel November, 2011. We do all we can to help our students develop and maintain a respect for our country, our government, and our military. We don't lead them to believe our country is always right or anything or that you shouldn't disagree with decisions that are made. However supporting the members of our military and their families has nothing to do with if you agree with a military action decided on in Washington. My brother was an Air Force air traffic controller in Tokoyo during Vietnam and often landed the Angel Flights. He talked about it once and I asked him if he ever knew how many they were escorting home. He shook his head and said "they were full, the plane was always at capacity" then he had to go walk outside. My heart breaks when I think how my brother and all of our military were treated when they came home during that time. I can't dwell on it, those memories still make me physically sick...

Thank you - a beautiful video.

heres just the plane |
Is it just me or did it look like an angle at the end when they did the fireworks and the back of the plane??? Thanks Ditter, that is absolutely the most amazing think i have heard since the song by Toby Keith.
God bless our sevice men and women, and to a job well done, you will be in our hearts forever. Now if I could stop crying. |
Touching, thanks for giving us the link. Did you see the angel in the smoke from the plane? I couldn't believe it was so beautiful. It was at the end and the plane is coming directly toward you.
|
Awesome video. Can't make me believe that it is "just smoke"
|
THANX, DITTER, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!

I was on a commercial flight within the US. Just a normal flight, nothing out of the ordinary. You know, people coughing, kids crying during take off and landing because their ears hurt. You know, the usual.
When we landed the announcement came over the loudspeaker, as it always does, to "please remain seated with your seat belts fastened until the captain brings the plane to the jetway". Same message as always. Then, just as we were at the jetway another announcement came over the loudspeaker. I don't remember the exact words but something like, "Please remain in your seats and observe a moment of silence while the remains of a fallen soldier have been taken from the plane". It was so weird. No one moved, no one coughed or shuffled in their seat. The children stopped crying. Dead silence for about 5 solid minutes. When the announcement came over the loudspeaker that we were now free to exit the plane people actually paused, no one spoke, no one shoved to get into the overhead for their carry-on. Everything was so orderly and quiet. I don't know why the body of a fallen soldier was on a commercial flight, maybe it was either the only way to get him (or her) home or maybe the quickest. |
Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Do a Google search for C-30 FLARES and you will see some amazing video. If you have not seen the movie "Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon, it is about a Marine, escorting a soldier home for burial. Incredibly moving story. Diane |

The soldiers are brought to an air base and from there, their casket often needs a commercial transport to get to their home town, unless there are flights scheduled by the military to another base, close to the hometown of the soldier. When ever you see a soldier in full dress, alone on a plane, this just might be the situation because most don't fly in full uniform, but in fatigues. Most airlines will bump them into first class if there is a seat available. Diane |
