Oh Terri you are like the little Enigne" You can do it ! You can do it !" We wll be here cheering you on all the way ! And like others have said a new family heirloom in the making
On a side note, when I was pregnant YEARS ago, my mom hand crocheted a christening gown for my baby. It took her 6 months, as I didn't know about it til it was almost finished. Both my boys used it and most of my neices and nephews have also been baptized in it. It is now "our" family heirloom. My mom also gave me the blanket that all of "us( her children" were wrapped in for our christening . It will make for wonderful stories down the road for the twins. Maybe take pictures and make a journal to go with the gowns so that future generations will have the full story! LOL Relax it will all be fine  |
If anyone can do it, you can! And, of course, you KNOW we want to see pictures!
|
Go Terri!!! Go Terri!!! You CAN do it!!! :D:D:D
|
That will be so special!! You can do it Terri!!!!
|
Well it has been the better part of a day.... are you done yet ? LOL ***ducking as Terri throws things at me***
|
Most religions that christen the newbees usually want to do so relatively soon after birth and you DO want the gowns to still fit, raaaaaiiiiight??????? With 6 weeks to spare, that should be a breeze for you. (Cracking myself up because for once, it's not me who's in the pickle barrel)
Wishing you speedy fingers, Terri! |
Thanks for the encouraging words.
I'll get them done, I know, just had to whine for a minute. I've made a Christening Gown before, was a bugger for my Godchild. Lauren and Donny aren't baptizing the babies, they are being dedicated. I don't know what that means, but Lauren says it's like a blessing. No clue.....I was brought up Protestant(Congregational) then converted to Catholisism about 15 years ago. Both girls were raised Catholic, but Lauren has fallen away, but has attended non-denomination churches, which is fine, at least she is going, right? Ok, didn't mean to start something on religion, could get ugly when religion and politics is discussed. But I digress.......I'll get the gowns done and no, I won't be here or it. They are doing it the end of Feb and I don't have the money to fly back for it. Lauren says they could wait until we all get back here in June, but I told her it was up to her |
No problem about whining, that is what we are here for  And when you whine , we encourage you  Because we know you can do it and do it well  And everyone needs to vent when they are put under the gun  LOL
|
I bet they will be beautiful when they are done. We just can't say no.

Oh, Lauren found a gown online that has smocking and all sorts of other fru-fru stuff on it. She says...MOOOOM! Come see this, can you do this to the gowns? OMG!
I told her that if she wants them to look good, then the smocking has to stay away. Of course I CAN do smocking with my machine, I have the foot for it and all the directions, but I'm not comfortable doing it. So, I told her, she is getting them the way I make them. Oh, I need a nap, sooo badly, but we are headed to Columbus today and I'm going to Joanns, so nap will have to wait. Fabric is more important lol |
