I just discovered something by accident, (laziness). I freely admit to not cleaning up my kitchen last night. I had peeled some oranges for a salad and left the orange peels on the counter. I went into the kitchen earlier to clean it up and low and behold. Tons of dead ants and no live ones!!! The only thing different was orange peels on the counter. I wonder if they are toxic to ants? I have an ant problem every year. Going to put some more out see if they quit coming in...

I took perverse pleasure in getting rid of the ones in my yard organically. You need 2 fast people and 2 shovels. Dig out a shovel full of dirt and ants from both hills at the same time and run and dump them in the other hill. It creates an ant war, they kill each other off. Works great.

I have never heard of such a method, but will try it next time I have two hills. Thank you!!!

I think that is a Carpenters Ant. They do damage to wood.
Make sure that under your sinks, toilets, washing machine drains that come in the wall are totally sealed. Seal them with duct tape if you need to. But just make sure there is no opening for them to come inside.
