Especially since you are diabetic you should get blood work done.
I'm sorry you have those pains hon!!!
Hope this HUG is soothing :)
Sue

sue I have been to my dr twice in the last few weeks. I am battling exzema or psoriasis in the palm of my rt hand. She took blood work just a few weeks ago. She doesn't think I should take pills just eat bananas. Which I love but I have a hard time keeping them without them going bad.

thanks sue I appreciate the support. It's just something I have lived with almost all my life but is sooooooo annoying!!

Well, is your potassium low??? Potassium is a mineral, not a "pill" as such.
Low levels of potassium aren't good for your heart.
Hey, I just thought of something- baby food jars of bananas! Then they wouldn't go bad :)

Eewww! LOL I don't know if I am brave enough for baby food bananas! Tho the junior version might not be so bad! LOL

My dr just said she would rather I eat the bananas instead. When I asked at the pharmacy about finding the potassium they discouraged me from going that way.

Did they give you a reason as to WHY?

I have recently started having sharp pains in my feet. It happens quickly an goes away quickly. It feels like an electrical shock. A nerve thing for sure. It startles me everytime it happens and it is very annoying.

I had a small tumor taken off of the base of one middle finger on my left hand a few years ago. I was so worried I would lose the use of that hand. I have lipomas which are fatty benign tumors. I had a large one taken off at the same time as the finger. I had been told there was a 50/50 chance I could lose the use of that hand. I didnt lose it but the finger the little tumor was in he must have gotten too close to a nerve because it is slightly numb all the time. But it works fine and I don't even notice the numbness very often.

I've had the stabbing pains for several years but only got diagnosed with diabetes about 4 yrs ago.

I do deal with leg cramps and they make my feet pulsate when the nerves get going in the bottom of my feet. They ripple and it is the funniest frustrating hurting feeling!

As long as I eat bananas at least every other day I don't have the leg cramps so much. But bananas are hard to keep and I end up going without them for too long. I wanted to take pills but the dr and the pharmacist thought that was a bad idea. They didn't really say why.

to keep bananas put in a white grocery sack and store in fridge. the skins may get dark but the banana will still be good

Gosh.....there are so many of us dealing with pain and neuropathy. The one thread that I see running through these messages is that we haven't and won't give up. Such a wonderful group of brave ladies who offer strong support and a shoulder to lean on here...

Don't we all love the sisterhood of quilters on the QuiltingBoard... Sure keeps me encouraged.

Bless you, Rhonda... and be good to yourself. You are a blessing to the rest of us.
