Haven't been to the movies in a long time. We love Clint Eastwood's work and decided to go see it.
Any thoughts???

I hadn't even heard of it. Gran Torino was pretty bad, IMHO. Clint was the only person in the film who could act their way out of a paper bag. But it was a pretty car!

So you did see it?? What did you think of it? I haven't seen it but was thinking of seeing it.

Want to go see it and hate to disagree but IMHO, Torino was one of the best films ever! Of course, my first car was a Torino so I can understand the attachment to it!

I love Clint, he was on Helen's talk show as a guest, and he is one classy man. So down to earth and gentle and you gotta love that little side wards smile he does.
Can't wait to see his new movie, Grand Torino was great, the message in that film was so needed with todays problems with gangs. My hat goes off to him for making that movie, just shows he can play any character.

Chickadee, you are so right about him. I think he's one of the best out there and love your description. I haven't seen Grand Torino but I will. I don't think I've ever NOT seen a movie he had anything to do with.
Okay, my opinion of the movie- Hereafter- disappointed . My hubby and I both came out of the movie feeling that it never got off the ground after the first scene, which was a cinematic masterpiece.
I didn't hate it, but I really didn't like it either.
There are so many movies that I wouldn't pay to see and I thought this one was the exception but in my case it wasn't.
I love going to the movies and hardly ever do b/c I never see any previews that look good to me.
But hubby and I had a nice evening out together :)
PS. Who's Helen?????

chickadeee55 11-14-2010 05:47 AM

Sorry, meant Ellen as in Degeneres. That is what happens when your mind is thinking faster than your fingers can type.

sueisallaboutquilts 11-14-2010 06:04 AM

oh, ELLEN yeah, I know what you mean about flying fingers and flying thoughts :)

Gosh, I acually LOVED grand Torino. I really got a good feeling from that movie........"the changed man thing", I wont give it away, but I really loved it. I agree, the actors, ect, werent the best, except him, but what a message.......

That's a movie I think I'd like to see ... but will wait till it comes out on DVD.

I don't care to go to the movies unless it's something that SHOULD be seen on the BIG SCREEN. Avatar for example...even seen it in 3D. Cool!

Besides that the theaters are unusually cold and loud for me and the refreshments are totally overpriced. $5.00 tickets and $7.00 popcorn and $4.00 pops. :)
