oh my gosh cute puppy have been there sorry to say just having all kinds of fun there

coloradosky 07-14-2014 01:38 PM

He looks so pleased with himself. Love it.

DebD800 07-14-2014 01:38 PM

Do you have proof? The dog looks innocent to me. :)

bearisgray 07-14-2014 01:42 PM

Who? ME????

I thought they were TOYS for ME!!!!

bearisgray 07-14-2014 01:45 PM

Seriously, though - thread can be a disaster for a pet if they swallow it or get it wound around one of their toes.

LyndaOH 07-14-2014 01:45 PM

Send the photos to Aurifil for their Facebook page. They just might replace them for you since your dog is so cute!

Tartan 07-14-2014 01:57 PM

Oh man, expensive toys! Keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't swallow any.

Cam's gram 07-14-2014 03:12 PM

I remember when our puppy did that to my thread - plus my quilting gloves, credit card, glasses, etc. Not all at once thankfully. And I still miss having a puppy!

ILoveToQuilt 07-14-2014 03:18 PM

I had a pup who once ate a pin cushion - pins and needles and all! She also loved to eat cacti, loved "playing" with porcupines (26 times pulling quills and counting) - basically anything sharp and prickly! She recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge where she can play with all the porcupines she wants and never have to have the quills pulled! I miss my girl!

Sorry to hear about your threads, but I would definitely post the picture to the Aurifil FB page. Your pup is adorable!

Onebyone 07-14-2014 03:25 PM

No use crying over tangled thread! The culprit looks so sweet it would be hard not to smile.

Doggramma 07-14-2014 03:27 PM

Oh dear. Your pup doesn't seem to mind that it's naughty! Actually looks quite pleased about it.

One of the granddogs is terrible. He chewed up the underside of my daughter's bed. And he chewed up my SIL's wallet AND the money and credit cards. He's also chewed on cords. He does all this at night when people are sleeping.

lynnie 07-14-2014 03:49 PM

Oh look mommy, i sews too!!

decky 07-14-2014 03:55 PM

I know it's not funny but I just had to laugh. The fur babies are just like kids, always finding ways to get in trouble.

Judith1005 07-14-2014 04:04 PM

Uh oh, sure glad no harm came to a very curious puppy! But, doh, Aurifil thread....ah, NO NO NO.

michelleoc 07-14-2014 04:18 PM

He sure likes to play with the bright colors!

susie-susie-susie 07-14-2014 05:47 PM

Did he pop the tops off and swallow them? That's almost $100.00 worth of fun, more if he gets sick and has to go to the vet's. Maybe the cat did it, he looks pretty innocent, or is he proud of himself?

coopah 07-14-2014 06:38 PM

Oh, bummer! I'm sure that sweet looking dog thought it was helping you!! I save empty spools for my cat to roll around in the sewing room. Keeps her busy and out of mischief (mostly).

Dina 07-14-2014 06:54 PM

I know this isn't funny, but it sure made me laugh. Made me laugh...and feel better about my cat. :) (I have to keep everything from him....thread, pins, string of any kind, rubber bands, cardboard, etc.)

Dina

None of you have mentioned http://dogshaming.com ...

You *really* need to add this to that site!

:)

Dolphyngyrl 07-14-2014 07:02 PM

Looks like he had some good fun. look at that smile. It say look what I did

jo bauer 07-14-2014 08:27 PM

Me? Not me mom. Must have been the boogey dog. This made my day (evening). I must admit, it made me roar. I'm still laughing, probably will wake up with the giggles.

twinkie 07-15-2014 02:45 AM

Those were very expensive toys. Cute dog.

Keep an eye on him. If he swallowed a bunch of that thread it could land him on the operating table - or kill him. Things like that are deadly to the insides.

Lucy90 07-15-2014 02:49 AM

I love animals but I guess I'm the only one who doesn't see the humor in this. They are cute but I would not be a happy camper. We had dogs and cats but as I get older I don't want animal hair etc on my quilts or quilting room.
Just me

grann of 6 07-15-2014 04:13 AM

I don't see humor in it either. Why was the thread where the dog could get it? I have a Great Dane that could take anything she wanted off a counter if she so desired, but she has been trained to be a "lady" and respect my belongings. I always worry about dogs and pins and all the dangers in a sewing room, not pet friendly, that's for sure.

dms 07-15-2014 04:17 AM

You know, my dog does the same thing. She loves the plastic. I have to watch vigilantly so nothing falls on the floor. Darling Dog!

eastslopequilter 07-15-2014 04:38 AM

That is exactly why I don't let pets in the house.

kydeb 07-15-2014 04:42 AM

Doesn't look at all guilty to me!!! LOL

lindaschipper 07-15-2014 04:44 AM

Where was the dispenser when he got to it? If let where he could get at it...is it really his fault??

Bueniebabe 07-15-2014 05:09 AM

but your dog is so cute, he wouldn't do that
I had my rat terrier get so tangled up in a skein of yarn I had to cut it off it, should have taken a picture

We always had "outside" dogs when our kids were young, but as a senior citizen, I like my dog in the house to protect me from strangers at the door, etc, plus just plain companionship. But dogs, like children, need rules. They can't be allowed to be the "boss" of the house. The human has to always be the alpha dog, no matter the size of the dog. My Dane knows I am her boss. She recently learned that she could go down the stairs to the basement with me, so loves to sleep on her bed while I am sewing. I watch carefully for pins on the floor. She occasionally will put her head in my lap looking for a little love while I am sewing, but now knows that when I say "Excuse me" it is time for her to go lay down. It doesn't matter how cute they are, they need rules, and really shouldn't be in the sewing room at all, for their own safety.

Billi 07-15-2014 05:19 AM

Wow some of you are kind of judgemental there. nobody is perfect no matter how diligent we are or how well trained Sometimes $#|+ (stuff) happens.

His face reminds me of my aussie when I found him surrounded in fluff and his noes stuck in my now quite bare ugh boot when he was a pup. He had managed to pull all the inside fluff out of my boot without damaging the outside at all. Wanted to kill him but I just had to laugh. it's called having a sense of humor, it makes life so much less stressfull.

linynp 07-15-2014 06:05 AM

Ummm hate to say it but he looks proud! Lol. Wants your full attention not our sew sew one hehehe. Oh feeling your pain.

fayeberry 07-15-2014 06:19 AM

Oh No! that's why he's so cute - so you don't kill him!

renee765 07-15-2014 06:54 AM

Feffertim, I have to admit that I'm not perfect either. I have cats in my house because they give me a lot of love. Yes, I have cat hair. So what. I could have a spotless house, but it would be lonely. I also try to keep things away from my cats but they do get adventurous. Their favorite activity is to find any batting that isn't locked away. They are great at shredding it, I guess for any future stuffed animals I might make?

Your puppy looks like an active, curious companion who adds quality to your life. He has mastered that 'who, me'? look that dogs do so well. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Many of us probably went to check our sewing space to see what we need to put back out of harm's way. Your posting probably prevented another furrie baby from getting in trouble today!

DebraK 07-15-2014 06:59 AM

I can't blame your little friend. The thread looks just like the pattern in his dog bowl ;-)

MargeD 07-15-2014 07:05 AM

Oh my, but I'm afraid he doesn't look very ashamed at what he did. Guess the thread had a nice texture to it. Some of it might be saved, but the pink looks like a goner. It wasn't Aurifil thread, but I accidentally got a smaller spool of thread unraveled to such an extent that I just kept cutting until I could use the spool, it's worth a try, and I couldn't even blame it on my cat.

BettyGee 07-15-2014 07:13 AM

My little guy will find the end of a thread on the edge of a piece of fabric and just keep chewing and pulling on it until he gets a whole ball of it in his mouth. This can be dangerous for the fur baby so I don't leave fabric down on the floor anymore, it is in baskets, but he will get into anything he can. I like Tartan's suggestion, worth a try.

Annaquilts 07-15-2014 07:21 AM

Ouch! $40 toy for the cutest doggie.
To make you feel better my 8 lb doggie "ate" $10 worth of aurafil, so you are not the only one.
